What is CVSGM?
The Cumberland Valley School of Gospel Music is now a one week camp created for all ages who can come together to learn more about the basics of music and to use their knowledge to instruct others on music. We are a Christian based music camp and sing Gospel music.
This year will look a little different since we are going from 2 weeks to a one week school. Students will be able to come Saturday afternoon to register. Sunday morning, we will meet together for a devotion/service time and will then break into classes. More information to come on the schedule.
Students will take a short music theory test to determine what class they will be placed in. Class levels range from very beginning to advanced level classes.
We spend the week learning the basics of how to read music to the more advanced level on how to write a song. Students come together a few times during the day to practice songs from the Cumberland Valley Song book and other song books. They will then perform a selection of these songs at the end of the week on Saturday morning, also known as our Closing Program.
CVSGM is held on the campus of Welch College in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Address to the school: 1045 Bison Trail, Gallatin, TN
The campus entrance is across from Station Camp High School.

FAQs about CVSGM
What is a normal day like at CVSGM?
On a typical day, students will begin together with vocal warm-ups, a devotion, and then go to their classes. CVSGM offers classes that range from very beginning to advanced level classes.
During the day, we will come together as a full group and receive full group instruction as well as preparing for our closing night program.
We have breaks throughout the day, where students can visit our "SuperStore" for snacks, supplies, CVSGM merchandise, and more!
In the afternoons, we have plenty of fun time, including group recreation activities such as crafts, water games, basketball, board games, and more!
We come back together as a group after dinner and have another class time that may consist of sectionals (where students split into parts to practice) or theory. We then all gather together again for group singing once more.
Students have another break time before heading to bed and getting ready for the next day!
